Mr Matthew Cottis
Matt Cottis Graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a Law Degree (Hons) in 2014 and after working in the finance industry in London, he travelled and lived around the world for two years. He is currently a student of BPP Law School where he is studying the LPC part time and hopes to complete his studies in 2020.
He is currently based in the South Woodham Office where he assists on all aspects of residential and commercial conveyancing.
In his spare time, you can find him playing tennis for his local tennis club, running and regularly attending nearby parkrun events and exploring the countryside with his dog.
Miss Lisa Wilson
Lisa gained a Higher Diploma in Administration Studies at Chelmsford College
She joined the firm in October 2015 and works in the South Woodham Ferrers office.
Lisa has worked in the legal profession for over 20 years and her main areas of work have been Residential Conveyancing and Private Client work to include assisting with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probates.
In her spare time, Lisa likes to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys car orientated events to include attending race days, regular car meets and caring for her car.
Miss Shannice Fredericks
Shannice joined ST Solicitors in August 2015, initially on a part time basis, as a legal secretary. Shannice is now the Practice Manager and assists the Managing Partner in the day to day running of the firm.
In 2018 Shannice also graduated with a Business Honours Degree which covered many areas such as Digital+ Social Media Marketing, Business Law, Entrepreneurship, Business Finance, Corporate Governance, Principles of Fraud, Business Technology and Operational Management.
In her spare time, Shannice likes to spend time with her family and friends, travel and shop.
Mr Umut Tarhan

Umut graduated with a Politics degree from the University of Greenwich in 1998 and after working in the public sector for a number of years he moved into the Legal Industry in 2007.
Having gained several years’ experience in Conveyancing, Civil Litigation and Personal Injury, Umut qualified as a solicitor in 2012.
Umut joined our team in 2016 and was made partner in 2017. He is primarily based at our South Woodham office.
On a personal level, Umut is fluent in Turkish and in his spare time enjoys travelling and boxing.
Ms Karen Nicholson
Senior Associate Solicitor (Higher Rights CIVIL)
Karen joined the firm in 2019 as a senior associate Solicitor and has been specialising in family law since she qualified as a Solicitor in 2011. Karen attended the University of Southampton before attending the College of Law in London to complete her LPC where she passed with distinction. She has also obtained her Higher Rights of Audience (CIVIL) allowing her to represent her clients at all levels of courts. She is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel as well as being a full member of Resolution.
Karen has been described as an easily approachable person who is understanding and sympathetic to the needs of all of her clients and who is experienced in assisting them through what can be a difficult time. She undertakes all aspects of Family Law matters and enjoys the diversity of dealing with a wide range of clients who require advice and assistance with Cohabitation, Divorce, Financial Remedy, Pre/Post Nuptial Agreements, Domestic Violence, Children Matters and has a wealth of experience in dealing with emergency applications.
Karen also assist in the private client departments assisting with Wills, Lasting Power of Attorneys, Deputyship and Estate Administration.
Mr Christian Themis-George
Christian joined ST Solicitors a year ago on a newly implemented LLB Solicitor Apprenticeship scheme, He shadows the solicitors in the office in order to gain valuable knowledge and experience, allowing him to understand the profession at a greater level.
He finished sixth form in 2017 with 4 A level qualifications, and has passed the first year of exams for his apprenticeship course.
He enjoys producing and dj’ing music, as well as going to the gym, spending time with family and friends and travelling.
